Van Gogh: Paintings Into Eternity
Vincent van Gogh is one of the most celebrated and beloved artists in history. His art continues to captivate and inspire audiences around the world to this day. But what is it about his work that resonates so deeply with us?
Perhaps it is because Van Gogh had a remarkable ability to capture the essence of the universe through his paintings. He may not of understood it in his time, but his works popped out an innate understanding of the frequency, vibration, and sound that surrounds us all, and was able to translate it onto canvas in a way that touches our very soul. His use of color was vivid, swirling hues seemed to capture the very essence of the colors of heaven.
But there is something else at work in Van Gogh’s art that speaks to us on an upper level. His paintings represent a conduit between earth and eternity, a bridge that spans the gap between the physical and the spiritual worlds. They have the power to transport us to a higher plane of existence, where we can experience the beauty and wonder of the universe in a way that transcends mere words.
Often scientists will speak of vibrations and sound as a form of communication, with an instant transfer of knowledge and understanding to the listener. Some believe this represents a language of eternity.
Van Gogh’s work is a visual of the human spirit coming through in art. Although he experienced brokenness throughout his life, it was the visions of eternity he possessed that came out in his artwork. He had a deep and abiding understanding for love that binds all living things, and his paintings are a reflection of that love. They are full of joy and passion, and they remind us that even in the darkest of times, there is still beauty and wonder to be found in the world. It is well known that art and life both imitate each other.
If you take Van Gogh’s life into account, By secular standards, it was full tragedy and sadness. However, for the purposes of soul enrichment, he lived a life every human should experience in order to best connect to Eternity. He was captive to his brokenness, to which he sought hope and enlightenment through painting. Which then encapsulated the awe of the universe and our human spirit reflecting within it.
Art is one of the most powerful storytellers. On a recent trip to Norway, I was able to visit the Nasjonalmuseet in Oslo which houses a huge collection of famous works, most notably, Edward Munch’s The Scream. Seeing this painting with my own eyes was amazing.
The original name for the painting was “Der Schrei der Natur” Which translates to “The Scream Of Nature”. Edvard painted this in Oslo, Norway back in 1893. His sister was recently committed to a mental institution. The painting was originally panned by critics (at which Munch etched into the painting these words: “can only have been painted by a madman”). Edvard drew inspiration to create this artwork from sensing a sort of infinite scream moving through nature as the sun set on his walk. Whether it be crazy or not, capturing his feelings and mind in this one painting has had a massive artistic impact and has gone on to be one of the most popular art pieces in the world. A great example of storytelling.
Art unleashes the soul and magnifies the artists’ deepest thoughts which draws in the observer, allowing reflection, pushing back to understanding their soul is just the same. Which captures the depth of our thoughts and mind..light/dark, love and hate; we’re all somewhere between. Every person recognizes the beauty.
It comes at no surprise that Van Gogh’s work continues to captivate and inspire us to this day. His paintings show us the power of art can touch our souls and connect us to something greater than ourselves. They remind us that we are all part of a vast and beautiful universe, and that there is magic and wonder to be found in every moment of our lives.
The backdrop of the universe is right in front of us.
